1. Using my SCAL program I placed 3 circles in the classic Mickey style and welded them together. The total height was about 5 1/2 inches. I then cut them from black cardstock.
2. I typed up the message for the inside of the invite and printed it on red cardstock. The text box was 3 1/2 in wide by 4 in tall. I used Mickey font that I downloaded free off the internet at dafont.com. I rounded the top corners and cut the bottom to match the black cardstock circle. To be honest, I'm not totally in love with how this part turned out but I only had 2 sheets of red cardstock and needed all of it to print my invites. So this is how it stays. :) In the future I would probably make the font smaller and decrease the size of the text box.
3. I folded up the bottom of the invite to the top. It gives the look of the Mickey ear hats.
4. I used a ruler to crease the fold. One moment that it would have been nice to have a bone folder!
5. Using the Minnie font, at dafont.com, in SCAL I welded the letters together and cut the title with my Cricut. I used the Minnie font instead of the Mickey because the Mickey font is not solid like the Minnie and does not cut as well.
And that is it! In about an hour and a half I had 10 completed birthday invitations! And that includes the time it took me to create the files in SCAL and Word. Much faster than I've ever done before. I will say it again, the Cricut and the SCAL program are AMAZING!! I don't know what I did before I got them!
