Play Ball

I always start my scrapbooking process by looking for inspiration.  I knew I wanted to scrap pictures from the boys first professional baseball game.  So I went online and searched for a baseball layout.  I found this one on the Scrapbooks Etc website.
I loved the simplicity of the layout and the color scheme used.  I did a very literal lift of this layout.  I am new to paper piercing and was excited to try it out on this page.  I found my baseball and the number nine on SVGcuts.com.  They have excellent svg files for free on their blog.  However, these files came from their sports lovers set for a small fee.  I then did a google search for a silhouette of a baseball player.  Using the trace image feature in SCAL I was able to cut this as well.  It is hard to tell in the picture but I used some bronze chalk to highlight the edges of my paper piercing pieces.

I used a 5x7 for the main photo and 2x3s for the smaller pics on the page.  Using a tip I read recently on another blog (can't remember which one) I printed my text on white paper, then taped my cardstock in the same spot and ran it back through the printer.  I love how well it worked.  I always print my journaling and usually use vellum.  I'm excited to have a new option for my journaling.
