July 14th

Wind blows!  Or at least, trying to capture wind in a photo really blows.  That was the challenge today, and I had a HARD time.  It was even windy here, and lots of things were moving, but the conundrum was to make them LOOK like they were moving in the photo.  And everything I shot just looked like it was standing still.  After multiple attempts to capture movement with my camera, I switched lenses.  And finally achieved a photo I liked, well maybe two.

"Winds of Grace"
This was certainly the best of the bunch.  Amazing what a zoom lens can do.  Allowed me to focus on the grass while blurring out the background (apparently called bokeh-a new word I've learned this month).

My other shot that was actually ok.  :)

This one was the best of the bunch from my first round of attempts before switching out the lens.

Wind can definitely be beautiful, and while capturing it is hard, the end result is so rewarding.  I guess photographing wind doesn't really blow.  :)
