Isn't she beautiful! I love my Nikon D40 and I love my 35mm 1.8 lens. Together they take beautiful pictures...with a little help from me of course. :)
So why did I recently buy this little lady? I added the Nikon Coolpix P300 for one main reason. I needed something I could carry around easily in my purse. My D40 is awesome but it's just too heavy to carry around day to day. I'd be happy to use an iPhone...if I had one...but I don't. :) So a point and shoot it is!
And because I had a P&S I was able to snag this pic. Just threw the camera in my pocket before heading outside.
I've been wanting some pics of us eating ice cream for awhile. But since we usually head there spontaneously while we are out, I never had a camera with me. Now I've got one in my purse all the time, so I was able to grab a shot!
pssst...look for an ice cream layout in the near future! :)
I even took this beautiful photo with my point and shoot! I had the camera in my pocket while my son was riding his bike. I glanced up, saw the light on the rose and had a camera right there to snap the pic! No rushing in the house to find my big DSLR and missing the moment.
Does that mean that I will no longer use my Nikon D40 sweetheart? NO!! I pull it out when we are headed to a big event, or when I want a quality photo (especially in low light situations where she is just a goddess!). But since I am striving to document our everyday lives, that means I need a camera with me everyday! For me the old adage is true...the best camera is the one that is with you!
