I knew it was almost time, but when I went to have lunch with my son and saw how wiggly his tooth was I rushed home to put together this Tooth Fairy pocket. And it was so quick and easy!! I've had this project from
here pinned on
Pinterest for awhile.
I used my handy dandy Tim Holtz ruler to cut the felt to size. First I cut a strip 2 1/4 in wide.
Then I cut the strip to 6 1/4 in long.
You can find the pattern for the tooth over at
Benzie Design. The tooth was a little small for the pocket I was making. But I cut it out anyway.
Then when I cut the white felt tooth I cut around the pattern to create a slightly bigger tooth.
Not perfect, but totally good enough for me!
I folded the red felt to the approximate size and placed the tooth.
Using white thread I stitched around the edges of the tooth.
I folded down the top flap and pinned it in place.
Then I added a ribbon to the back of the pocket. I folded under the edges of the ribbon and pinned them in place.
Then I stitched across the top of the flap making sure to catch the ribbon in my stitches.
Here's what it looks like from the back.
Now I folded up the pocket and tucked it under the flap and stitched the sides.
Here is the front of the completed pocket.
And here it is from the back.
Your Tooth Fairy pocket is ready to hang anywhere. And so cute too!
My son LOVED his tooth fairy pocket! And I did too! :) Come back tomorrow to see the page I made all about my boy loosing his first tooth!
