My own March Madness

I am not a follower of basketball but my household is full of March madness!  For us it's birthday craziness.  My boys birthdays are 12 days apart and then my husband follows them 3 days later.  Last year my husband was also returning from a several month deployment right at the same time.  It took me quite awhile to get to this layout.

Once I started however it went very quickly.  I used 2 free downloadable templates I found at Scrapbooks Etc.  I just added in the pictures I wanted to use in Photoshop and printed them off. I used a rectangular template on the left side and a square layout on the right.  I'm sure I wasn't doing things quite right but sometimes the pale blue of the template showed through.  I just took the paint bucket and painted the light blue spots white.  Worked like a charm!

This was the first title I ever cut with my Cricut.  The planes refers to my husband "returning on a jet plane," trains were for my youngest turning "toot, toot, 2" and the automobiles were for my oldest who was "racing for 4."

I used border scissors to cut the blue mat around the photos .  I then took one of the photo blocks and extended it out of the frame for the journaling.  Add a few stickers, and DONE!

Simple layout, lots of pics, little time.  Nice way to calm some of my March madness!
