Totally Digi!

I've done it!  My very first completely digital layout!  Yay!!  And believe it or not, it was much easier than I thought it would be!

Other than the fact that I want all the layouts in my All About Me album to have a kraft cardstock base I had no idea how to start an all digi layout.  So I went with my standby...find an inspiration layout!

Guess where I found this one?   Are you surprised it was Write.Click.Scrapbook?  :) I thought not.  Since this is one page and I needed two I stretched the design across both pages.

Considering the story I would be telling I knew I wanted a bird accent.  There are so many cute birdie embellishments out there, but I don't own any.  Which is why digital was so perfect for this layout.  Find one online, download, instant access...all while my son was napping!  I got this one from JessicaSprague.com.  Love it!

Once I had a design to follow making a digi layout was easier than I thought.  By following the basic steps I posted about here I was able to complete the entire layout.  Create a new canvas the correct size (I did 8.5x11) and drop in your paper.  Any place you want to add patterned paper add a rectangle shape.  Then drop in each sheet of patterned paper and clip it to the appropriate shape (steps found at the above link).  Finally add text and any embellishments and you're done!

Even though the photo of my Grandma is blurry, that's no reason not to use it.  Not everything has to be perfect!  Since this story is one of the only memories I have of my Grandma I knew it had to be included in my album.

I'm having more fun scrapping than I have in a long time.  Who knew telling my story would be like that?!?  Do you have a childhood memory of a grandparent that you could scrap?  Try it out and let me know how it goes!
