Easter Colors

I've been having some fun with Photoshop again.  For those of you that saw my pumpkin layout you may recognize this technique.  

So here is how it works.  This is my first attempt at screen shots so hopefully it works :)

Open your file into Photoshop.  In the full edit mode click on the Smart Brush Tool.

There are many tools within Smart Brush.  Click on reverse effects and then black and white.

Use the + pointer to click on the area that you want to have color.  The rest of the image will turn black and white.  Continue clicking on the areas that you want to be colorized.

The area that you want colorized will have the marching ants around it.  If you colorize a part that you want to be black and white just click on the - tool and deselect.  That will turn it back to black and white.  You can also change the diameter of your brush to be larger (if you have a big area you are changing back) or smaller (if you have fine detail work).

When you have the picture colorized the way you want go to the right hand side, right click and flatten image.  Then save.  Remember to save with a new name so that you do not save over your original image.

For these portraits I used the same Smart Brush tool.  The process was the same, but the effects are different.  Under the portraits tab there is a bright eyes tool, and under the nature tab there is a greenery tool.  I used both for these photos.

Notice how much greener the grass is in both shots? And how bright the eyes are?  If the eyes are a little too bright for you, you can adjust the opacity before flattening the image until the eyes look the way you want them.
