10 Years of Wedded Bliss

Today is the 10 year anniversary of my wedding day!  As I hinted in an earlier post my husband and I celebrated by taking a trip for two to New York City!  Next week I'll show you the travel album I created especially for that trip.  But for today I wanted to share a layout I made in remembrance of our special day.

This layout started as just the left page.  I made it for LOAD and tried really hard to leave it as a single page layout.  But I couldn't do it.  :)  So the next day I added page two.

I used some simple elements with tone on tone colors.  I thought the neutral colors played off of the colors in the sunset.  I truly love the simplicity of this page.

For the right page I paired some of my favorite pics from our special day with the stories I wanted to remember.  Honestly I had a hard time fitting it all on one page!  :)  I covered the proposal, the wedding, and I added in our vows.  I'm so glad I have this layout to document the pieces of the day that I always want to remember.

To my amazing husband, I am still so grateful to be married to you.  You are a wonderful father and a loving husband.  Every year our life just gets better and better.  Thank you for the last 10 years and I look forward to many many more!

Wonderful Weddings

I'm perhaps a little partial this week, due to my upcoming anniversary, but right now I'm drawn to wedding pages.  So it was my excellent luck that the July gallery over at Write.Click.Scrapbook is all about wedded bliss!

A Love Story

On this, the day we celebrate love, I wanted to post my parent's love story.

I have heard my parent's love story many times, but before creating this layout I called my Mom to double check the details.  It was special for me to hear it again in her own words.

Once again the inspiration came from Write.Click.Scrapbook.  Since this layout is one page and mine is two I found a natural line in the layout to use as my dividing line between my two pages.

At my parent's wedding the photographer lost their photos.  This is one of the only ones we have.  I'm so glad the technology to scan and save these photos digitally is available!

Instead of the banner on the inspiration page I chose to use swirls.  I found a yellow glitter paper which gave the page a more classy look.

I added more swirls next to each title block.  I found these phrase stickers in my stash.  I have had them for years and finally had a use for them!  Yay!

Once again I used the bracket border punch on the edge of the journaling.  I just love how it looks!  One more yellow swirl next to the journaling completed the page.

And here is their story.  It's a good one...trust me!

My Love

Life here in the last few days has been, let's say STRESSFUL!  Lots going on health wise in my family, and amongst all of that I have to pack and move in a week.  PS - My husband will not be there to help.  :)  Fun times.

I have been missing my other half recently, and while I have not been able to do a current layout due to my materials being in boxes, I do have an older layout that I have not posted about.

Back in October of 2007 my husband performed his first wedding ceremony.  He had known the bride since childhood and she had always wanted him to perform her wedding ceremony.  He was shocked to get the call, but excited by the opportunity.

I used several photos from the reception on the left page.  I also cut out part of the center photo to add the sticker.  Weddings always remind you of your own.  I wasn't a scrapbooker at the time of my own wedding, and I already had a professional album of my wedding photos.  So I felt that this layout was the perfect opportunity to document the vows we spoke at our wedding.  Plus, my husband used our own wedding ceremony as the jumping off point for this one.

I chose my colors from the ones used in the ceremony.  Pink, tan, and brown.  I loved the chance to use pink, and jewels on a page.  It's not something I get to do very often.  :)

It's nice to take time to look back and reflect on time with my love.  I don't often scrapbook pics of just us.  Typically it's all about our boys.  But I know that someday my boys will want to remember and reflect on the love their parents share.  I love that I can tell our story too!
